Information For Industry

The faculty members of chemical engineering department are involved in applied research as well as fundamental research. Many of them serve as consultants to industries in India and overseas. Some industries with whom we collaborate are CPCL, EIL, GAIL, BHEL, NMRL, TATA, GM, IOCL, HPCL, NPCL, MFL

Our faculty members are involved in specific projects of interest to industry. The main outcomes of these projects have been development of new technology or improvements in existing processes or technology.

Some of the recent consultancy projects that our faculty members have undertaken are

1) Assessment of Agro-based fuel for power generation
2) Prediction of the upper lower furnace heat transfer for high ash coals
3) Preparation and charaterization of PVA based membranes for selective carbon dioxide separation
4) Development of tools to reconcile data from the supercritical test facility (SCTF) and estimation of heat transfer coefficients
5) Development of Simulators and Optimizer for PE-IGCC Process
6) Performance evaluation of existing desox system
7) Chemical mitigation of carbon to fuels and chemicals
8) Development of master controller for a network of PAFC stacks
9) Dynamic Modeling of a Fluidised Bed Gasifier
10) Predictive models for platinum group metal (PGM) based catalytic converters
11) Development of Non-stick coating for boiler WW tubes & SH tubes – using nano material & nano surface texturing
12) Design of Suspension of Zinc Oxide for Fortification of Fertilizers

The faculty members of the department possesses expertise in a wide spectrum of areas not only in chemical engineering but also in several interdisciplinary fields.
