  • IIT Madras Team (Mr. Abhiram Tarimala(CH17B033) and two Student from other department) ‘Java the Hutt’ on clinching the 2nd position in the Wharton People Analytics Conference Case Competition 2020, held in association with UNICEF, UNDP and The Wharton School for their case prompt ‘UN AIMS – United Nations Augmented Intelligent Mobility System’ that involved the exploration of how Talent Mobility impacts employee success in the UN organization’s 190 member countries.​
  •  Mr. G Vamsi Vikram(CH16D201) had won the Best poster award in “4th Indo-German workshop on advances in Materials, Reaction & Separation Processes”, held on February 23- 26, 2020.
  •  Mr. Rajesh Pachimatla  (CH15D004) won the Best Oral Presentation Award for presenting the paper entitled ​“Estimation of State-of-charge / State-of-health In Li-ion batteries using nonlinear electrochemical impedance spectroscopy”  at  “National Conference on Advanced Lithium Batteries: Science and Technology, (NALiBST-2019)”, held from 27 to 28 Dec 2019,  in IISC Bengaluru
  • Mr. Akash Choudhary (CH15D206) won the Best Poster Award for presenting his paper entitled ‘Non-Newtonian Effects on the Slip and Mobility of a Self-Propelling Active Particles” . at CompFlu 2019 held at IISER Bhopal from 5th to 7th December, 2019.
  • Ms. B. Rashmi  (CH18D400) , co-authored with former Ph.D Scholar and currently Research Associate, won the Best Poster Award for presenting the paper entitled “Pt-based Bimetallic Catalysts Electrodeposited on Titanium Support for Methanol Oxidation in Direct Methanol Fuel Cells”  at the Yokohama Environment and Information Sciences (YEIS) International Forum 2019 held at Yokohama National University, Japan on 16 December 2019.
  •  Mr.Raviteja Kurapati,  (CH15D403),  had won the ‘Best Presentation Award’ for his presentation entitled ‘Structure of Poly(acrylic acid) in Adsorbed Films at Oil-Water Interface: A Molecular Dynamics Simulation Study’ at the 7th International Conference on Electroactive Polymers (ICEP-2019) held at Udaipur during February 3-8, 2019.
  • Mr. Sarin John (CH17B069) and  Mr. Siddharth Singh (CH17B070),Et Al.’Team Anveshak’ comprising of the IIT students on winning the First Place at the Indian Rover Challenge 2019 held at Manipal,during January 9-12, 2019.
  • Mr. Ranajit Mondal CH15D017 and Dr. Basavaraja M Gurappa (Guide), 3rd International Conference on Soft Materials, SMRS Jaipur ; Dec 09-14, 2018, Patterns of Dried Drops Dictated by Curvature Driven Interfacial Particle Transport, Best presentation Award & Trophy.

  • Ms. Sharanya Sriram  and Mr. Bincy George Abrahamwere awarded Technical Excellence Award to the Team W6 – Electrochem – for the project titled“Sustainable Zero-Energy Prototype for Desalination Coupled Wastewater Treatment”Carbon Zero Challenge 2017-18 Grand Finale (Feb 9, 2018)
  • Mr. Bincy George Abraham, Awarded Best Oral Presentation in the session ‘Electrodeposition and Nano-technology’ at CORSYM 2018 for the presentation titled “Effect of Electrodeposition Techniques on the Performance of Platinum Electrocatalyst towards Methanol Oxidation”March 23-24, 2018
  • Ms. Saranya Sriram Awarded Best Oral Presentation in the session ‘Electrochemical Testing Techniques’ at CORSYM 2018 for the presentation titled “A  Low Energy Electrochemical Approach for Dual Waste Management” March 23-24, 2018
  • Ms Ragini Sreenath, CH15B058 and Daria S Nair, MM15B009 has won the first edition of `Women of Mettle‘  scholarship Instituted by Tata Steel, This scholarship programme is open to second year female engineering students of select national institutes, entails an amount of 2 lakh along with an internship opportunity in 3 year and also a pre-placement offer from Tata Steel July 2017.
  • Ms Akshaya S, CH14S008, has won ISER (International Society for Engineers and Researchers) Excellent Paper Award for the paper entitled “Study of the effect of Packings in an Energy Optimized Binary Tray Distillation column”,  for the category of Best Presentation/Best Content at the ISER International Conference held in Tokyo, Japan, 06-07 July 2017

  • Praneeth Srivanth (CH14B049), B Shantini (CH14B064), Sai Pavan Abhishek Vinakollu(CH14B058) First Prize in the Inter IIT Techspark Competition conducted by Hindustan Unilever Limited on January 27, 2016. for Novel and sustainable solution for plastic packaging used in sachets.(They also demonstrated the concept with a working example. )
