About the League

We are a team of researchers consisting of doctoral and graduate scholars and MTech/Dual Degree students, working under the guidance of Prof. Pushpavanam of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M).

We work on problems of a fundamental nature in the engineering sciences, particularly fluid dynamics, reaction and transport processes and micro-scale phenomena. At the same time, we take on technological projects with industrial significance; e.g. Plasma Coal Gasification and Nuclear Reactor Safety.

At the heart of our work is a deep appreciation for mathematics- that abstract self sustaining world in which humans can come within sniffing distance of infinity and the absolute. Yet it is in the application of its powerful methods to physical reality that we derive the most pleasure. There is nothing quite so thrilling as to see an experiment follow a hidden mathematical order or a group a equations capture the most varied behavior.

We believe that research produces its best fruit when it is practiced with passion and enjoyment; research is an expression of our innate desire to understand and share; to see with depth and certainty the hidden truth which nature often clothes with a shroud of fascinating beauty.
